What I Wore

During our recent trip to Sun Valley, I picked up this amazing Rebecca Taylor silk ruffle dress at Consign Design. We returned to SV over the weekend to meet Mini Fashionista II, and some family friends hosted a "sip n' see". It offered the perfect opportunity to wear my new dress.

I paired it with my Target Wedges (post here). It's hard to believe they are 4 years old. And for my birthday (it's this week), Katie gave me the Smith Sidney sunglasses I was coveting (post here)...Thanks Sister.

This post is a good example how you can mix and match expensive and inexpensive. Rebecca Taylor dress + target shoes. A match made!

And cheers to AS (a loyal friend and reader) for taking the photos! She experienced her first trip to SV over the weekend, and I think she's hooked. Of course we had to take her to Consign Design... #svlifeisthebestlife

Deal Alert!

Last October we shared these boots that C&C reader Amanda introduced us to (post here). Can you believe they are Clarks?

After seeing them on Amanda again last week I decided that I "need" a pair. So I did a quick search and found them on Amazon for only $58! Prices vary by size, but there is a deal to be had!

Happy Shopping!

Currently Coveting

Both Katie and I are coveting these shoes. She sent me a link to them earlier this week, and I decided to share them with all of you. Katie ordered them in black and will have to report back with a "What I Wore" post.

I'm not shopping right now, so someone should buy these. Any takers?

What Would Kate Wear

I've been thinking a lot lately about my own style. I've made the mistake of looking back at pictures of myself 5-10 years ago, and I find myself saying "what was I thinking?"

I'm pretty sure that Kate Middleton will not be saying that to herself 5-10 years from now. Her style is classic and timeless, not to mention flawless.

Her style on their recent tour down under was...well, flawless. And the hair....gorgeous!

If I were to try and emulate anyone's style, hers would be "safe" yet stylish. I'm going to try and keep Kate on my mind next time I make a purchase.

Speaking of a purchase, here is your chance (and mine) to copy the Duchess on one of her most frequently worn pair of shoes, the Stuart Weitzman Corkswoon.

Kate shows you that these shoes are functional and versatile...dress them up or down!

Here is the best part, Until May 27th you can customize your own pair by choosing the color, the wedge material, the size and width!

While they are a bit of an investment, $398, I'm pretty sure they will stand the test of time, just like Kate.

What I Wore

On Sunday I attended the barre3 holiday party. Since it was pretty much the only holiday party I attended this year, I wanted to have something fun (and new) to wear. So, as you may have guessed…the black and white ASOS dress was my pick!

Here's how the outfit turned out. Thanks to fellow barre3 instructor, friend and loyal C&C reader Allyson for taking this photo!

I paired the dress with some very old, and much loved Cole Haan wedges and my favorite accessory, Angela Caputi chainlink bracelets. Don't forget you can get 15% off the bracelets and everything at Serena Italian Imports through the 22nd using the code CCHOLIDAY13.

Splurge vs. Save

One pair of these shoes costs $275 and the other pair only $54.95. Can you guess which is the more expensive of the two?

Click on the photos to find out which shoe is the "splurge" and which is the "save". Bottom line, they look incredibly similar and achieve the same look, but one of them is far more affordable than the other. Comment below to let us know if you guessed right!

What I Wore

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Viviana Volpicella. I have followed her for years and have shared many of her fabulous outfits with you here on C&C.

I am not sure what year this photo was taken, but it's old, and I have loved this top for years. The sleeves are so cool. The look is polished yet effortless.

I have a similar top from DVF, so I thought why not channel my inner VV and style an outfit with her as my inspiration. I happened to be at barre3, so it was the perfect place to get a quick shot!

DVF top from Consign Design, Merona Shorts from Target (last week's splurge vs. save), Wedge shoes (blogged about them here) and Angela Caputi Bracelet

Sole Searching

Have you been over to Sole Society lately? Another pair of shoes is just about the last thing I need, but that doesn't stop me from doing a little "sole" searching. If you haven't ordered from Sole Society before, I highly suggest it. You get $20 off your first order, and all of the shoes are less than $70. I got a pair of wedge booties last fall and love them. They are so comfortable and the quality is fantastic!

Here are some of my current Sole Society favorites!

Has anyone else made a Sole Society purchase? Have you been happy with your shoes?

What I Wore

As you know from my previous blog post I decided on the army green wedge booties from Sole Society. Here's how I wore them for the first time. The sun came out, and the Mini Fashionista and I went downtown to meet a friend for lunch.

I paired them with my very dark wash J Brand Jeans, a J Crew gingham shirt and my Barbour vest.

What to wear them with next?

And just a reminder, you have until the end of the month to save 10% at Serena Italian Imports using the code "fallcardicouture"!

Fashion Conundrum

Last Friday on the C&C Facebook page I posed a very important question to our followers, grey or olive (technically the decision was between clove and army). I was set on purchasing this Addison wedge from Sole Society, but I couldn't decided which color.

Thanks to all of you who "voted". The winner was olive! So what color did I decide to buy? Olive! And here they are, even more fantastic than I could have imagined. These are going to be the perfect shoe for fall and winter. Stay tuned to see how I style them in upcoming "What I Wore" posts.

And let me take the opportunity to introduce you to Sole Society. Sole Society delivers on-trend shoes at surprisingly affordable prices. Members enjoy access to a new exclusive style each and every day. Think of it as belonging to a shoe club! And did I mention they offer free shipping BOTH ways, so if the shoe doesn't fit, literally and figuratively, you can send it back at no charge! We'll see how these boots hold up. If they do, I am sure to become a Sole Society regular.

Here are some of my other favorites.

Has anyone shopped Sole Society before? How did the shoes work out for you?

What I Wore - Napa Wedding Weekend

Nearly two weeks ago, my +1 and I took our first vacation together without the Mini Fashionista. We spent four fabulous days in Napa, Ca wining, dining and celebrating the wedding of our friends. I spent a lot of time planning my weekend wedding wear, so I thought I would share a few of my outfits.

1) Travel clothes: Zara blazer, Old Navy striped blouse (which I blogged about here), Zara jeans and Cole Haan Wedges.

2) Wine tasting: Tory Burch blouse and shorts (Consign design) and Target wedges

3) Sunday Brunch- Polka dot J Crew dress (borrowed from my dear friend SW), NY&Co wedges (from Seams to Fit) and Kate Spade Franca cat's eye sunglasses

For the wedding I was so close to getting a dress from Rent the Runway, but I decided to shop in my own closet and save the money. Instead I wore this Trina Turk that I've only worn once (nearly four years ago). I paired it with my gold Ferragamo Sandals (also from Consign Design) and an Angela Caputi chain link bracelet. It's not my favorite dress, but no one was looking at me anyway.  The bride was stunning in Monique Lhuillier, so I guarantee no one cared about my 4-year old dress!

If the Shoe Fits

Earlier this week I popped into Seams to Fit on my way to teach at Barre3. I wanted to see if any of my items had sold, and do a little browsing...as the saying goes, "when in Rome"! Anyway, I have a habit of spending whatever credit I have, and then some.... but, for the first time I managed to leave the store both in the positive and with something fabulous in my shopping bag!

Behold these amazing NY&CO colorblock wedges. Ivory, grey and black...with a pop of orange under the foot. The will go with everything! I'm in shoe love!

And, I'm digging them with my neon pink toes!

Random Musings II

Just like Katie's Random Musings from last week, here are some of my recent ramblings...

This website FLUFFYCO has cool organic totes like this colorful bike tote.

Bright Bike Tote $56

Did you know that Splendid (best known for their super soft cotton clothing) now makes shoes? Katie should have included this in her wedge post!

Klever Wedge $119

I recently was introduced to three new (to me) online sale sites Fab , My Habit and Joss & Main. Check them out for great deals on home goods, decor, clothing and accessories. My Habit even had MZ Wallace handbags!

For all of our prego readers...I wish they had this video baby monitor a year ago. It works with your iphone. So Cool!

Do you have state pride? If so, show it with a necklace by Maya Brenner.

Speaking of Idaho (see above), I used to have this t-shirt...and no, this is not me in the photo.

Splurge vs. Save

And this striped espadrille from Kohl's is only $34.99!

Which would you choose?

Wedding Wedge

One of my dear friend's sister is getting married in June. The majority of the wedding will be outdoors, so she wants to wear a wedge. It is really challenging to find wedding appropriate wedges that aren't made of cork, rafia or wood. Here are a few that I found. She could always go for a fun colored wedge, but since I don't know her colors I stuck with neutrals.

Nine West Amped Up 3 $89

Anyone have other suggestions?
