Currently Coveting

One of my favorites sources of fashion inspiration is Italian photographer, blogger and "it girl" Elena Braghieri. You may have read previous posts about her as I have followed Elena for many years now. In fact the first time I have posted about her was WAY back in March of 2010 (here).

In her instagram posts I have seen her wearing the most incredible "puffy sweater". You know how much I love a good puffy coat.

Finally after months of admiration I decided I had to share the fabulousness with all of you. Say hello to the Peuterey "Duane" jacket.

This season it has this amazing herringbone like print.

Although I like the new large pattern, the navy, more subtle herringbone print is my favorite. I would love it in solid black too! Here's a quick video of the Duane and the It Girls in action.

This is definitely on my "wish list". Santa...are you paying attention?

Too Many Jackets

Is it possible to have too many jackets? I think not! Last week I had the pleasure of being involved in a barre3 class for a group of Nike employees. It was a very early morning made worthwhile by a really fun group of ladies and a pretty awesome bag of swag.

This jacket was the highlight! Say hello to the "Nike Fearless and Bold"

It's super comfy, a great layering piece and can easily be worn with street clothes as well. Between this and my new BLANKNYC jacket (post here), I am set for the fall! I know MANY of you ordered the BLANKNYC jacket...who's going to get sucked in on this one too?

As a reminder, C&C takes no responsibility for any purchases we may influence. i.e. you cannot tell your spouse/partner that it was our fault. That's just mean!

Timber...

As you know, mixing "utility" pieces with chic and sophisticated ones is right on trend, as Katie shared last week, and as Blair Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific demonstrates FLAWLESSLY.

If you want to achieve this look, there's no better place to go than Timberland. They offer functional and chic pieces that can easily be mixed with the most preppy, chic and sophisticated items in your closet! Happy shopping!

Friday Gift Guide- My Christmas Wish List

As you may remember, I already received my Christmas present a few months ago. I got this beautiful Woolrich coat from Anthropologie. I have no regrets about my choice. The coat is amazing, and I will have it forever. Maybe even the Mini Fashionista will wear it someday!

That said, I still have a number of things on my wish list. If Santa is in fact inclined to bring me another present, here's what would tickle my fancy (does anyone still say that???)

Assuming there's no budget, I am Ba-na-nas for this Lela Rose dress.

Lela Rose Folded One Shoulder Dress $1395

My feet are always freezing...so slippers are a must, especially in the winter. I love these from J Crew.

J Crew Armor Lux Slippers $88

This wedge would be perfect to wear with nearly everything! I might prefer it in patent leather though.

Since I am a mountain girl I love me some Patagonia, or "Pata-gucci" if you will.

This fur vest would already be mine if it weren't for the fact that it's sold out! Come on Santa, can't you get me one?

And last, but not least, I am totally smitten for these Steve Madden wedge boots. They come in black, cognac and stone. I would buy all three if I could!

Christmas Come Early

The Mini Fashionista and I ventured downtown earlier today to have lunch at the food carts with a friend. With half an hour to kill before our rendezvous, I decided to pop into Anthropologie...

Immediately I was beckoned by this Woolrich Dipped Nougat Coat.

With coat (and stroller) in tow, I found the nearest mirror to try on this beautiful jacket. Please excuse the terrible photos and the strange look on my face. I wasn't sure they even allowed taking photos in the store, so I was trying to be incognito.

It definitely doesn't go with my pink jeans and watch (as blogged about earlier today), but it will be the perfect completer piece to dark jeans and tall boots in the coming weeks and months. After a quick call to my +1, it was decided that this will be my Christmas present. It was just too good to pass up, and the best part....Anthropologie is currently offering all their outerwear at 30% off! SCORE!

Much to My Liking

Nothing completes a fall or winter ensemble like a good blazer. I received the most recent Boden catalogue last week and found these beauties much to my liking.

And while this is not a blazer, I am kind of in LOVE with this hand held tweed tote. I feel that when combined with skinny dark jeans, a Barbour jacket and some fabulous riding boots I will be channeling Duchess Kate.

Check out Boden to see more!

Anthropologie Overload

The Mini Fashionista and I went on a little shopping outing last week and spent some time browsing through one of my favorite stores, Anthropologie. There were so many fabulous things it was near overload. Here are a few of the items I found especially enticing.

Fur the Love

There's something about being in cold weather and having something warm and cozy to wrap yourself up in. Fabulous Furs has a fantastic collection of faux furs to keep you warm in a Winter Wonderland.

Blazing Trails

Besides a cardigan, there is nothing better to keep you warm and stylish in the cold weather than a classic Blazer. Whether it is a boyfriend blazer, velvet, or wool it is the perfect way to polish off an outfit. Here are three great blazers, all from Tommy Hilfiger, and all only $99.

Another Coat

I seem to have been posting a lot on coats and jackets lately, so I apologize if it is getting a bit boring. But, I couldn't pass up the chance to share this adorable Soho Jacket with you. It comes in navy, grey, black and red and has the most adorable ruffle along the button line.

Warm Me Up

Besides a fantastic pair of boots, a beautiful coat is the best way to make a bold fashion statement in the middle of Winter. These coats from Elie Tahari's Fall 2010 Collection are beautifully crafted, elegant and classic. I especially love the magenta ruffle coat.

Call For Duty

My family has a long history of service in the Army. In fact, four generations attended West Point. When my sister and I visited West Point in high school I couldn't fathom attending a school where the dress code included fatigues and steel toed boots. This Military Sweater Coat, on the other hand, is my kind of Army style.

A fashionable Funnel

I LOVE coats, and this one falls into the "need+ want" category. It comes in black and camel and is reasonably priced at $168.
