Mix or Match

I'm digging this Ann Taylor Geo Eyelet top, skirt and shorts. I'm a fan of an entire outfit of matching prints.

What do you prefer when it comes to prints? Mix or match?

Jump Around

Last week a C&C friend (and reader) posted a picture of herself wearing this fabulous Seashorse Jumpsuit from LOFT.

While she looks fantastic in it, I am not sure that I could ever pull of a jumpsuit or a romper. I'm just not sure the style is the best way to flatter my figure. Regardless, I still can't help but want one.

In April, Katie wrote a great jumpsuit post (here), so I thought I would share a few jumpsuits and rompers I might jump around in!

I really like this 3/4 sleeve romper (also from LOFT).

I love this, but I am pretty sure my +1 would laugh at me if I wore it.

I love the back of this jumpsuit.

Do you own a jumpsuit?

What I Wore to Work Wednesday - Stripes for all Seasons

I like to maximize my wardrobe, which means wearing pieces for Spring and Summer in the cooler months. You just have to get a little creative with your layering. I got this shirt from Zara this Spring and wore it a ton. But it has been hibernating for a while. Time for a wake up call!

Hello, I've missed you! Paired with a J. Crew cardigan, an Ann Taylor skinny belt and infinity scarf (I can't get enough of it!), DVF purple flats, and my signature Angela Caputi bracelets in prugna and forest green (c/o Serena Italian Imports), it was a new dawn for my striped friend.

What do you have hiding in your closet worth venturing out into the Winter months? I challenge you to take a second look.

Splurge v. Save

The cobalt blue and black combo this year is one of my favorites. And as you may or may not know, I LOVE wedges. In fact, I'm on a quest for the perfect pair for wedding 2012 (any suggestions would be welcomed). The Giuseppe Zanotti suede wedge pumps with ankle straps are kind of major. You aren't going unnoticed in this shoe. But even at 30% off, they ring in at $455.

A less expensive alternative is the Ann Taylor Lina Calf Hair Platform Wedges, which retail for $248. But this wouldn't be Splurge v. Save without a good deal! Coupled with a reduced price and what seems to be a regular 40% off code, these are now only $134.99. A true blue steal if you ask me!

Ann Taylor Concept Store

Last night's event at D.C.'s first Ann Taylor concept store was a great way to kick off the week! The new stores, designed in partnership with S. Russell Groves architects, give you the experience of chic, luxury shopping, at one of your favorite retailers. The design has a residential feel, with homey touches like stunning crystal chandeliers, floor to ceiling mirrors, modern leather ottomans, and a clean white aesthetic. And did I mention their inventory is equally impressive? I'm not normally an Ann Taylor shopper, but let me tell you, that changes now changed last night. Here are a few highlights. See the full album on our Facebook page.

If you visit the store on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (600 13th Street), you'll get 30% off a full price purchase! What a great deal! Thanks Ann Taylor!

Ann Taylor Moratorium Monday

Tonight I'm going to a Capital Area Fashion and Beauty Bloggers event at Ann Taylor. To get in the mood, and to do a little advance work, I thought I'd share what caught my eye from the store right now. I'm currently on a shopping moratorium, but I'm considering a temporary, one-day ban for tonight's event. I'm leaning towards something black or blue - that color combo, despite sounding a bit bruised, is one of my all-time favorites. What piece do you think I should come home with? (SHHH....don't tell Dr. B).

Eye Catching

Sometimes you come across things that you just like. There's no rhyme or reason to it, they just strike your fancy. Today's post is a tribute to that feeling. Here are a few things that have caught my eye lately. I haven't bought any of them, although I have put a few on my Pinterst "Wish List," because obviously that means some day I'll get them (do you hear the sarcasm?). Clearly there isn't a theme to this random hodge podge of items, other that the commonality that they intrigue me in some way. The Dannijo cuff is really out of this world. Does anything float your boat?

Shopping Challenge

Last week my sister sent me a link to these J Crew Lindy suede platform peep toes , and while I do agree they are pretty fabulous (in her words, and Rachel Zoe's, they are Ba-na-nas), they also cost $250. So, I told her that I would find a similar pair for less than half the price.

And I did...Say hello to the Ladi open toe suede bootie from Ann Taylor Loft. They are cute and budget friendly at $89.50.

These are a Must Have

Ann Taylor Loft has yet to disappoint this season with a beautiful collection of jackets, cardigans, over the knee boots and much, much more. These Shearling Trim Boots are To Die For. My Christmas list just keeps getting longer and longer.

Call For Duty

My family has a long history of service in the Army. In fact, four generations attended West Point. When my sister and I visited West Point in high school I couldn't fathom attending a school where the dress code included fatigues and steel toed boots. This Military Sweater Coat, on the other hand, is my kind of Army style.

Cardigan Wednesday

During my recent visit to Washington DC, I ventured into Ann Taylor Loft. To be honest, I think it was my first visit to the store (not counting online shopping). I found this Striped Open Front Cardigan as a part of their Lounge Collection and am in LOVE. And, it's reasonably priced at $59.50.

Ann Gets Edgy

Typically when I think of Ann Taylor, I think conservative, simple, and business type clothing. However, Ann Taylor has stepped up the line to appeal to a younger, edgier crowd. Not only are there some cute apparel and accessories, but some great sale prices. Here are a few of my favorites. Check them out at anntaylor.com
