Currently Coveting

One of my clients wore these Sperry Top-Sider for J. Crew Albatross boots to the barre3 studio a few weeks ago. I really wanted to steal them right out of her cubby, but I figured that wasn't very nice. Once I found out they are sold out online, I was wishing I had in fact accidently left thinking they were mine!

And then I saw these from Sorel, the Conquest Carly.

I want these boots. I NEED these boots! Fortunately Sorel is owned by Columbia Sportswear, a Portland company, and they have an employee store that I have access to. So, these boots are on their way to my closet! Stay tuned for some "what I wore" posts with these beauties!

That's all!

Hudson Shoes

Over the weekend we stopped by a Portland Store called Lizard Lounge. My +1 bought a new pair of jeans and the Mini and I browsed....I browsed, and she touched just about everything in the store. I fell in love with these amazing boots from the brand Hudson.

If it wasn't spring, I would seriously consider buying them. Here's a photo of the back. The online photos do them no justice!

Hudson is a British company founded in London in 1990. In 2008 they expanded their collection to include womens shoes. While not every style is my taste, they have some really cool shoes and boots. Here are a few others from their website. They had most of these styles at Lizard Lounge, so if you live in Portland and you see something you like, go check them out!

Protect Your Shoes in Style

One of my favorite things about blogging is introducing our readers to new products, especially those you might not come across if it weren't for reading our blog. So today, I bring to you the PYSIS (protect your shoes in style) overboot.

I have known about this product for a while now...in fact, it was just an idea, a concept when I met the creator, Cassie. And now, a few years later, here we are sharing it with all of you. Congrats Cassie! Really, this is so cool!

So what exactly is the PYSIS overboot?  PYSIS are overboots, or galoshes (rain boots that go on OVER shoes), which can be worn over many different styles of shoes and boots. With their treaded rubber sole, collapsible design and innovative closure, PYSIS protect against rain, slush, salt and snow. And each pair is sold with a convenient carry bag.

For any of you ladies that wear heels in the city, these are for you! In fact, PYSIS was featured earlier this week on Fox5 DC as "The Next Great Thing". Check out the video here

And here's the great news for all of you C&C fans, PYSIS is offering a 10% discount to C&C readers using the code CARDICOUTURE. And, it gets even better... C&C is going to give away a pair of PYSIS to one lucky reader!

Entries are valid until Tuesday at 12:00 AM Eastern Time. The winner will be announced on Wednesday! Good Luck!

It's a New Year

Welcome to 2013! C&C is looking forward to a great year! To start it off I thought I would share with you an old favorite...Nine West. Honestly, I haven't shopped there in years. I don't think I even have a pair of Nine West shoes in my closet anymore. That said, they have some really fabulous shoes, and at really great prices. I would gladly welcome any of these to my shoe collection for 2013!

These AMAZING booties are on sale for $49.90! Are they not totally to die for?

The Bleaker Bootie comes in black and grey and is a total steal at $79.99

This animal print slipper is also a great price at $49.99

The Sosie boot also has a cool look to it. They remind me of a Frye boot, but for a fraction of the price ($59.99)

Have you made a Nine West purchase lately?

These Boots are Made for Monogramming

I admit it, I've got a pair of UGGs that I wear in the colder months, mostly to and from work. They're my commuting shoes. But who knew these beach-going, jean-skirt wearing furry feet had a little prep to them! Now you can get your very own pair of monogrammed UGGs

And for the mini fashionista in your life, her own pair!

Do you have a pair of UGGs?

A little ELF

Last week I came upon these amazing camel and black cap toe flats. I love the simplicity, the natural leather and of course the color combo is fantastic! I might need these....

After a quick visit to the ELF website I discovered the company is based in Bali. Hello sister!!! How come you didn't find these? With your shopping radar I would have expected you to track these down with your eyes closed. Don't worry, for $15 they ship to the United States. Thank goodness! These flats are offered in a variety of color combinations, and they also sell some beautiful boots and sandals. I'd like to place an order for these two as well.

I love hand crafted and unique products like these.

Friday Gift Guide- My Christmas Wish List

As you may remember, I already received my Christmas present a few months ago. I got this beautiful Woolrich coat from Anthropologie. I have no regrets about my choice. The coat is amazing, and I will have it forever. Maybe even the Mini Fashionista will wear it someday!

That said, I still have a number of things on my wish list. If Santa is in fact inclined to bring me another present, here's what would tickle my fancy (does anyone still say that???)

Assuming there's no budget, I am Ba-na-nas for this Lela Rose dress.

Lela Rose Folded One Shoulder Dress $1395

My feet are always freezing...so slippers are a must, especially in the winter. I love these from J Crew.

J Crew Armor Lux Slippers $88

This wedge would be perfect to wear with nearly everything! I might prefer it in patent leather though.

Since I am a mountain girl I love me some Patagonia, or "Pata-gucci" if you will.

This fur vest would already be mine if it weren't for the fact that it's sold out! Come on Santa, can't you get me one?

And last, but not least, I am totally smitten for these Steve Madden wedge boots. They come in black, cognac and stone. I would buy all three if I could!

Winter Wonderland

As many of you know, katie and I grew up in Sun Valley, Idaho....pretty much the greatest place on earth. Recently, Eddie Bauer launched their Winter collection with this fabulous lifestyle video filmed in Sun Valley. Doesn't it make you want to put on a warm sweater and cozy up by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate? Even better, doesn't it make you want to book your vacation there ASAP? Good thing for me we are making a quick trip just before Christmas.

Check out some of my favorite items from the collection.

I NEED this Vintage Cable Hat!

Rain Rain Go Away

It's official...the rain has returned to Portland. Blah! Here's something to give us all a little pick me up!

Change of Seasons

I know it's Wednesday, and this post has nothing to do with cardigans, but we've decided to provide our readers with quality, not quantity. That said, Cardigan Wednesday won't be every week, but we'll still make sure to keep you all up to date on the latest and greatest cardi's.

On to another topic...

It's officially fall! I was really loving the 80 degree weather in September, but I knew it was too good to last. Instead of fighting the change of seasons, I've decided to embrace it by celebrating all things appropriate for fall and winter.

And these couldn't be more fabulous. A bit of a knock off of the orginal L.L. Bean Duck boot, but I  think I like these even more.

Rainy Days No More!

Are you a frequent traveler? Plagued by rainy days that ruin your beautiful shoe collection? Love your Hunters but just can't fit them in your suitcase? Have I (well DKNY) got the answer for you...The DKNY Voyager Rain Boot! It looks like your everyday rain boot, but it's held up with an elastic band, taking it from tall for wearing, to short for packing in a moment's notice. On the website they only have them in black, but in the recent Instyle they also came in a coral color that would make any rainy day a little brighter.

Let's Be Practical

While I have a habit of posting beautiful (and expensive) things on my blog, and I frequently add them to my so called "Christmas List", the reality is that many of those things don't fit into the reality of my every day life.

Here are a few of the real items on my Christmas list and ones that might actually be under the tree tomorrow morning.

Over the Top

When it comes to Winter attire, I tend to prioritize function over fashion. Not to say you can't have both, but having grown up in a ski town, I know that function takes precedent...assuming you want to stay warm and dry.

So, what are your thoughts on these Hunter Over the Knee Shearling boot? My opinion, they might look good when you take them out of the box...but give it two days of walking in the ski town slush and they won't be so snowy white anymore. I think I will stick with my fashionable, functional and reasonably priced Sorel Boots.

These are a Must Have

Ann Taylor Loft has yet to disappoint this season with a beautiful collection of jackets, cardigans, over the knee boots and much, much more. These Shearling Trim Boots are To Die For. My Christmas list just keeps getting longer and longer.

One Fell Swoop

One of this season's hottest trends is the over the knee boot. Boots can break any girl's Fall/Winter shopping budget in one fell swoop. So, here are some fantastic over the knee boots that won't break your budget.

This last pair is not an over the knee boot, but they are so amazing (and the price...$99) that I had to share them.

Send in the Snow

Last year for Christmas I received the most fabulous red and black Sorel Tivoli Boots, which I featured on C&C. Since I LOVE my boots SO much, I thought I would share the new colors/patterns so all of you can be ready for the first snow fall.
