Dear Readers, it's Me Katie

Hi C & C readers, it's me Katie. I've been MIA for the last two weeks because of this.

Note to self: you are no longer a teenage ski racer and hitting gates at benefit ski races really isn't necessary. My blogging partner in crime has been carrying the load while I recover from surgery (I spared you the pictures of the pin sticking out of my thumb) and cope with the realities of being a one-handed south paw. Who knew you needed you're right hand, specifically your right thumb for so many things. Thankfully yesterday I got an upgrade to this bad boy. When the mini fashionista says get a purple cast, you get a purple cast.

I'm a little more proficient with my tying (it's still a left-handed peck, but I'm getting pretty speedy) and thought I'd chip in. So here's what I've got for you.

A photo posted by Elena Braghieri (@elenabraghieri) on

Elena Braghieri, one of our favorite Italian style icons,  posted this on instagram earlier this week. And while I've long been a fan of diptyque candles and scents, I had no idea about these oval little gems. Perfect for a dresser drawer or linen closet, each oval of scented wax is encased in a white porcelain medallion. And while it sort of says "soap on a rope" to me (come on, admit it), you know it takes the old-fashioned sachet to a whole new level.

Currently Coveting

One of my favorites sources of fashion inspiration is Italian photographer, blogger and "it girl" Elena Braghieri. You may have read previous posts about her as I have followed Elena for many years now. In fact the first time I have posted about her was WAY back in March of 2010 (here).

In her instagram posts I have seen her wearing the most incredible "puffy sweater". You know how much I love a good puffy coat.

Finally after months of admiration I decided I had to share the fabulousness with all of you. Say hello to the Peuterey "Duane" jacket.

This season it has this amazing herringbone like print.

Although I like the new large pattern, the navy, more subtle herringbone print is my favorite. I would love it in solid black too! Here's a quick video of the Duane and the It Girls in action.

This is definitely on my "wish list". Santa...are you paying attention?

Viviana Volpicella: On Menswear

Last week, one of my favorite bloggers/photographers, Elena Braghiere of Catching Instants, had her photo of my fashion fave, Viviana Volpicella, featured on the "The Tory Blog".

Check out the post to read the Q&A with VV on Meanswear!

P.S. Have I mentioned how obsessed I am with her style?

Street Style

I have been a loyal follower of Elena Braghieri and her blog Catching Instants for a while now. She is a talented photographer in Milan and frequently captures my fashion favorite, Viviana Volpicella! Here are a few photos that Elena took at a recent shoot for a limited edition Dolce & Gabbana bike.

If this isn't Street Style at its finest, I don't know what is!

Oh Viviana, in my next life I would like to come back with your wardrobe. And more importantly, as an Italian!

We are heading to Italy next winter, but won't be in Milan. Someday I dream of meeting Elena and having a run-in with VV!
