Like to Know It

This photo popped into my Instagram feed yesterday (here), and it reminded me immediately of my friend KG, so I sent it to her.

Then I decided I had to share it will all of you. The dress is classic, unique and well priced.

And the shoes...they might be my favorite part of the outfit. They are also very well priced and they look like they would be pretty comfortable too.

I'll be back later this week with a post on the blogger, Jennifer Lake of Style Charade, who posted the photo of this dress.

The Stripe Obsession Continues

You all know I have a major obsession with white and blue stripes. I came across this dress on ASOS earlier this week, and I had to order it.

And then I saw this one, and I had to order it too.

And then I just kept pursuing all the other navy and white striped things I could find. I came across this dress. It reminds me of something Blair Eadie of the blog Atlantic Pacific would wear. It's crazy fabulous, but it also requires a really, really good set of abs. Not sure I could pull this off, but I am tempted to try. If only I had an occasion to wear it.

Then there is this one. It would be a great work dress....if I went to an office everyday.

And lastly, this romper is pretty fabulous. I don't own a romper, but this one is tempting me.

Products We Love: The Mackie Dress

All things boho and embroidered seemed to have made their way back onto fashionable ladies last summer. Just because the seasons have changed, doesn't mean we don't have warm weather attire on the mind…especially with my and Dr. B's upcoming trip to Hawaii. And the Mackie dress is perfect for any girl (small or grown) looking for cute, comfortable, casual resort wear.

They come in a range of colors...

And two lengths.

The biggest challenge you'll face is deciding what color!

Reporting Back - ASOS Addiction

I promised I'd report back on my 5-dress ASOS spending spree. The winner? The dress I thought I was taking the biggest gamble on - the wiggle dress in border wallpaper print. The fit isn't perfect, I might have it taken in in the waist (I'm holding it in this picture), but I'm kind of obsessed. The length and pattern are right up my alley.

So much so, that I ordered this one too. Now I just need to track down the belt they styled it with.

ASOS, I'm kind of your new biggest fan.

Dress Me Up

I have this fabulous navy and white Beth Bowley dress that I got 3+ years ago in San Francisco at Loehmann's. I wore it wine tasting last weekend, and it got me thinking about the fact that I don't come across her designs that frequently.

After checking out the Spring and Summer collections, I am definitely going to be on the look out for her dresses for future events. Any of these would make great rehearsal dinner dresses for K and Dr. B's wedding next summer.

Dressy Pants

Because I'm tall, 5'10, with short in style, it often limits where and how I'm able to wear many of the dresses on the racks these days. Therefore, I'm a huge fan of wearing dresses and tunics over pants. My mom and sister sent me this great little sleeveless dress from H & M (thanks ya'll), which I wear out on the weekends by itself, but it's definitely WAY too short for work.

By throwing on a belt (Target), a navy short sleeve cardigan (Target), navy suit pants (Tahari), and some accessories, I was ready to go! If you've got a short dress that you like, try it with skinny pants, or tailored suit pants, you might just find you've got a whole new outfit. Even this Fall's designers are catching on to the trend.

P.S. Check out the Facebook page later today for a picture of what I wore today - I paired a Zara dress with some black pants from H & M that I got over the weekend. "Dressy Pants" in action!

Anthropologie Overload

The Mini Fashionista and I went on a little shopping outing last week and spent some time browsing through one of my favorite stores, Anthropologie. There were so many fabulous things it was near overload. Here are a few of the items I found especially enticing.

Lilly White

This is a surprisingly fantastic little number from Lilly Pulitzer. Wish I could have found something this cute back in my sorority days when we had to wear white dresses.

Wrap it Up

The wrap dress is a classic silhouette that should be a part of every woman's wardrobe. It's no surprise that DVF has had such incredible success as she is the wrap dress queen (among her other talents).

This Heidi Merrick Salon Dress ($325) would be a stylish and functional addition to anyone's Spring wardrobe. Wrap it up please!

No Competition

My intention when first writing this post was to do a "splurge vs. save". The splurge being this INCREDIBLE Lanvin wrap dress. I searched far and wide to find a less expensive option, but came up empty. There was nothing that even came close to competing with this dress. In the words of RZ, "I Die."

Beach Ready

I'm ready for some sunshine and warm weather....just a few days until I head South for the Holiday. Wish I was packing this little number in my suitcase.

Pretty in Pink

I found this adorable pink dress on Dakota Collective and am totally smitten. I used to say pink was my signature color, but I think I OD'd a bit, and haven't worn much of it in recent years. This dress is a perfect reason to bring back the pink.

For only $58 this dress from Piko 1988 Clothing would be a perfect addition to my summer wardrobe. I am so tempted to order this...

Happy Easter

As a kid I looked forward to Easter for many reasons: an Easter basket with candy, the egg hunt, brunch, and most importantly an Easter Dress and party shoes. I especially loved the white patent Mary Jane's that always ended up with awful black scuffs on them!

Well, I won't be attending an Easter brunch this year and have no need for an Easter dress, but if I did, here would be a few candidates! All of which would look fabulous with my Kate Spade nude patent heels.
