My First Boden Buy

It's hard to believe, but I have never bought anything from Boden for myself despite the fact that I shop regularly on their website for the Mini. 

That is until now...

I made only one purchase during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales, these Atherstone Ankle boots.

I have been on the hunt for a pair of everyday wear, low heel, navy boots at a reasonable price. When I saw these I figured they were worth trying, and I was pleasantly surprised. 

I especially like the back detail and color pop. 

They come in a variety of colors/prints and are cute and comfortable.

This positive experience will definitely have me shopping with Boden more often. If you decide to order a pair, I suggest sizing up. I am an 8.5 and ordered the 39, but they were too small, so I had to send them back for a 40. 

Currently Coveting

The Boden catalogue arrived earlier this week, and there are a few things I am seriously considering....

This Heidi Tunic Dress is fabulous, in both white and navy, and is a reasonable $108! 

I am loving the print on this rash guard and bikini bottom!

Boden knows prints, and this Mia Tunic is pretty fabulous! 

And lastly, but colors of the Broderie Top would be perfect for the summer with jeans and shorts.

Designer Profile- Hatley

On our last trip to Sun Valley I bought the Mini Fashionista the cutest pair of "mountain jammies!" Here she is modeling them with her BFF Bun Bun.

The jammies have a fun print with moose, bears, canoes and other mountain life. They do kind of look like "boy pajamas" with the forest green cuff and collar, but who says girls have to wear pink all the time anyway?

The brand is Hatley, a family-run Canadian company, who has been helping people get "clothes to nature" with its cotton pajamas and loungewear for over twenty years. I have to admit, I kind of want a pair of these cozy jammies for myself. So, of course I had to check out the website to see if they offered them in adult sizes. The matching PJ set is only for children (probably a good thing), but they do have cozy pajama pants for women. They also have a small selection of other apparel including dresses, outerwear and hoodies. It has a similar look and feel to Boden, but a bit more casual.  I'll probably stick to buying just for the Mini, but here are a few cute things I would consider for myself.

Boden Brings It

I have never actually purchased anything for myself from Boden. The Mini Fashionista has a number of  Mini Boden dresses, pants, and sweaters, but my closet is so far Boden-less.

That said, I am so close to pulling the trigger on my first Boden purchase. We are taking a winter vacation in February to Austria, Italy and Germany, and I think this Crepe Sole Wedge Boot could be perfect for the trip. I really like this fig color as it is a neutral and will go with everything, and I don't have anything like it in my closet. So, what do you think? Cute or Blah?

Have you ever shopped Boden? The prices are similar to J Crew, but the brand is not as well recognized here in the US. I would love to hear your thoughts on the quality and fit. 

Bringing to the Beach- The Mini Fashionista

To sum up this week's posts on beach attire, I thought I would share with you what the Mini Fashionista will be wearing on the beaches of Mexico. 

Every athlete needs a functionl suit for watersports. This one from Boden will be perfect for kayaking, building sand castles and riding on Papa D's boat. It's a little modest, but keeping your skin looking young is so important. Don't worry...she has a wide brim hat too!

Her second ensemble is a bit more chic but also provides good coverage. I especially like how the blue matches her eyes, and who doesn't love a one shoulder top with a ruffle. Ba-na-nas!

And last, but not least, every fashionista needs a smoking hot bikini...and animal prints are so on trend!

Much to My Liking

Nothing completes a fall or winter ensemble like a good blazer. I received the most recent Boden catalogue last week and found these beauties much to my liking. 

And while this is not a blazer, I am kind of in LOVE with this hand held tweed tote. I feel that when combined with skinny dark jeans, a Barbour jacket and some fabulous riding boots I will be channeling Duchess Kate.

I am loving this Boden V-neck Cardigan. It comes in 9 different colors, either striped or solid. I love the details, like the cute buttons and gathered sleeves. The hard part...deciding which one to get!

Jackets Galore

Boden USA has a great selection of coats and jackets that are fashionable and reasonably priced. For seasonal pieces, they a great alternative to some of the more expensive coats (like J Crew).
