Nursery Decor Deets

Thank you for all your wonderful comments about yesterday's nursery reveal. She is one lucky little girl already - especially to be living in the nicest room in the house (apparently this is just the beginning of that dynamic I'm told). In yesterday's Container Stories reveal you got the low down on the room's incredible organizational details. The closet really is a work of art.

So I thought today I'd follow up with the "deets," as we used to say in college, on all of the décor.

Nursery Reveal

I know Regan already posted today, but I'm just too excited to share our nursery with you! I had the amazing opportunity to not just work with Kate of Kate Collins Interiors to design the room, but also The Container Store to turn it into organizational nirvana. Here's just a little preview of the room that will welcome baby McB home NEXT WEEK!

For the full reveal, head on over to Container Stories! And check back tomorrow for more details on the design and decor elements that went into the room - including where you can find all the pieces yourself!

Big News...HUGE

We've got some news here at C & C and thought that we'd let the Mini Fashionista share it.

That's right, Dr. B and I are adding a little girl to our family in July. Thanks for hanging with us the last few months as our blogging has drastically dropped off. Regan has been crazy busy with work and I have felt downright HORRIBLE. Imagine your worst hangover every minute of the day, but you didn't get to have any of the fun to get there...that's how I felt until about 17.5 weeks. "Morning sickness" my ass. Whoever named it that should be punished. I'm halfway this week (20 weeks) and finally feeling like a normal human being again.

The nursery is in the works, which I'll be certain to share when it's done. You know it will be good since Kate of Kate Collins Interiors is helping me!

AND...just in case we didn't have a enough going on (in case you missed it on instagram) we got a puppy on Friday! Meet Hailey (named after the great town of Hailey, Idaho). She's a nine-week old (today!) Springer Spaniel and is an absolute love. We're getting a good primer in what it's going to be like to have a baby - especially since she gets up to go to the bathroom every 3 hours.

Thanks for all your congrats! We are so excited about both additions to our family!

21 Bundles

Special deliveries come in all shapes and sizes, and the latest special delivery to land on your doorstep could be from 21 Bundles. 21 Bundles is a monthly subscription box that delivers natural products tailored to the specific month of a woman's pregnancy or a new babies life

Here's how it works.

You tell them how far along you are or your baby's age.
Then they build a bundle of products (all natural) tailored to that stage.
And each month for $39.99 the bundle is delivered to your door.
What does the bundle look like?
So, what's inside?

It's Birchbox for babies! I wish this was around when the Mini Fashionista was born!

Has anyone tried it?

Products We Love

It's no secret that C&C (especially Katie) is a fan of the monogram! Today, I thought I would share with you one of my favorite gift ideas. I know it's a great gift, because The Mini Fashionista received hers from her lovely Aunt Katie, and we think it's pretty fantastic!

La Plates sells personalized plates (as well as other items) that are a great gift for all the little people in your life. Invited to a first birthday and you don't know what to get? How about a cool striped plate? Get one of these and your gift will be personal, thoughtful and practical!

They pretty much stick a name, letter or monogram on everything! So, if a plate isn't your thing, they also sell cutting boards, cups, soap dispensers...you get the idea!

Products We Love

I'm not planning on having anymore children, but these little moccasins from Freshly Picked might make me want to.....

NOPE!!! NOT HAPPENING! I may never put them on my own child, but I will certainly be buying these for all of my friends who are having babies and for any to-be nieces or nephews...no pressure Katie! They are the cutest!

The moccasins are homemade by Susan Petersen in her home in Utah. Susan started making baby moccasins in 2009 after becoming frustrated by the lack of well-designed baby shoes. Using some scrap leather she picked up at a yard sale, she began experimenting with designs. Working at her kitchen table, on a shoestring budget, Susan created a pair of moccasins that are adorable and stay on your little person's feet!

Now if I could just place bets on how many of you are going to order a pair! :)

Products We Love

Genius, this product is pure genius! The Ciao Baby Portable High Chair is all inclusive, requires no table or chair, is one piece and no assembly is required!

It comes in 5 colors, but I also think a pink or red would be a nice addition...

I will say, it isn't the most streamlined of products. It weighs 9 lbs, so you probably won't be bringing it on airplane trips. But, if you do a lot of car trips, camping, etc this would be a fantastic option.

Smudgetikka

I try not to talk too much about baby and kids stuff, but I know some of our readers are moms, like me, so every now and again I think it is fun to add some content for the little people.

A few months ago I came across a blog called Smudgetikka, a kids fashion blog posted by Linda McLean, a professional in children’s fashion who once worked with adults but finds the little ones so much more fun. This blog brings you the hottest designer labels and the strongest trends in kidswear fashion. Even if you can't buy or afford the designers she features, you can still use her posts as a source of inspiration.

Check out some photos from her recent blog posts!

Dressing for Two

One of my dearest friends is expecting her first child this summer, a boy! So exciting! I will be co-hosting a shower for her in June and cannot wait! Before I start thinking about what I will wear to the shower, I thought I would find some fun options for her....for the shower and a few for everyday wear!

She is going to LOVE this dress from ASOS as navy and white stripes are her most favorite combination. For only $44.76 she better jump on this ASAP!

I think she would also really like this striped dress from A Pea in the Pod. She could also wear it to work with a black blazer! Another great price at only $59.99.

I know she would really like the shape of this dress. Too bad it isn't offered in more summery colors.  And again, a great price at only $42.97!

Prego pants are either a hit or miss. These cargo pants could be really cute. They are on sale for $19.99, so they are definitely worth trying! And a quick side note, does anyone else think there is no way the model in this photo is actually pregnant?

White jeans are a summer staple. These are from the Loved by Heidi Klum collection and would be a great addition to her wardrobe. She could even wear them to the shower with a cute top and some fun espadrilles!

Chic Baby Bags

Recently a friend asked me about diaper bags....did I think she needed a "real" diaper bag, a bag with a lot of pockets, etc? As I have blogged about before, I have the MZ Wallace Kate, and I love it.  Her questions got me thinking about bags that have enough functionality to serve as diaper bags but still look chic and can be used post-baby. Since I know many of our C&C readers are expecting moms, already moms or are someday moms, I thought I would do a post on chic baby bags. Here are some of my favorites.

Bringing to the Beach- The Mini Fashionista

To sum up this week's posts on beach attire, I thought I would share with you what the Mini Fashionista will be wearing on the beaches of Mexico.

Every athlete needs a functionl suit for watersports. This one from Boden will be perfect for kayaking, building sand castles and riding on Papa D's boat. It's a little modest, but keeping your skin looking young is so important. Don't worry...she has a wide brim hat too!

Her second ensemble is a bit more chic but also provides good coverage. I especially like how the blue matches her eyes, and who doesn't love a one shoulder top with a ruffle. Ba-na-nas!

And last, but not least, every fashionista needs a smoking hot bikini...and animal prints are so on trend!

Kids Dressed Better Than You

I found this blog called "Kids Dressed Better Than You." I swoon at the clothes and wish 1) that I looked that good on a daily basis and 2) that the Mini Fashionista had a closet full of chic baby clothes like this. That said, should a child really be dressed like an adult? You have your whole life to wear blazers and boots and button down shirts.

Here are a few of the photos...

Can I get all of these outfits in my size? LOVE!

So stinking chic I can't stand it!

 Layering at its best!

Now this is how to wear a cardigan and a button down shirt!

If her first handbag is Chanel, what on earth will she "wish for" as an adult?

This baby is clearly the most approachable of them all, but the jeans are surely premium denim!
