Fit in a Box

As we prepare to begin 2013, I am sure many of you have exercise on your list of resolutions. There is no better way to motivate than cute new workout clothes. A few weeks ago I came across this cool company called PV Body.  For anyone familiar with PopSugar Box or Birch Box, this is the same concept, but for workout tops and bottoms.

Here is how it works!

1) Choose your "sport"

2) Choose your "venue"

3) Select the style tops you like

 4) Pick your favorite color palettes

5) Choose your favorite style (and color) bottoms

And then, for $49.95 a box including a top and a bottom show up on your doorstep! Brands include  Lululemon, Lorna Jane, Nike, Nux, and many others. It all depends on your preferences and what they have in stock.

I am really tempted to try this, but as you know, I have a hard time straying from my loyalty to Nike! Has anyone joined PV Body? I would love to hear your feedback! For anyone who wants to join and document your experience, we would love to blog about it. You can email us at cardicouture@gmail.com! Also, check out this link to get %20 off your first box!

Happy New Year's Eve!

K.Slademade

One of the items on my Christmas Wish List  was a K.slademade crossbody bag. I have been coveting this bag for a while now and am hoping Santa delivers...(maybe I should send him this blog post?).

For those of you not familiar with K.slademade, let me introduce you. "Kelsea, owner and originator of K.slademade, has an ongoing love for all things American; which is a big part of why back in 2010 she jumped at the opportunity to become an entrepreneur, designing and selling handbags. While her taste has refined over the years, she continues to derive much inspiration from classical American heritage using only the finest and most durable leather, zippers, and hardware to create a classically straightforward, sophisticated yet simple line of handbags."

Really, you can't go wrong with any of these bags. They are all to die for!

Boots, Boots, Boots

Last week I had some time to kill, so I popped into Target to pick up a few things. Every Target trip requires at least a small amount of unnecessary browsing....

When I strolled by the shoe section these cute little Merona rain boots just jumped off the shelf at me (luckily they didn't jump into my cart).

They only reach about mid-calf level, which is a nice change from a below the knee rain boot.

And for only $34.99 they are not only chic but affordable! You can also purchase them online (here). Here are a few of the other cute styles they currently offer online.

Merona Zelene Rainboot - Berry $32.99

Merona Zelma Rain Boot $34.99

Merona Zakia Houndstooth Rain Boots $24.99

I know this is one of many rain boot posts, but what do you expect, I live in Portland?

Splurge vs. Save

It's no secret that Katie and I are fans of the LL Bean "duck boot".They were on my 2010 Christmas Wish List  and have been in my closet ever since!

They are cute, practical and affordable at $79. But, if they still aren't in your budget, these Target knock-offs are only $32.99.

The real thing is worth every penny, but if you just can't swing it, these are a good option!

The Skhoop

While Katie is enjoying the warm Mexico weather, we are frolicking in a winter wonderland in Sun Valley. A few weeks ago I saw these Scandinavian long underwear on a quick weekend trip to Mt. Bachelor. I wasn't familiar with the Swedish brand Skhoop, but now I am officially a fan! These merino wool long underwear come in three colors and are super cute!

Which color is your favorite?

Christmas Mantel Cheer

Are you a fan of HGTV's Design Star? I don't watch every season, but I did watch the season when Emily Henderson won. As a fellow north westerner, and, add the fact that she's super talented, I'm a big fan. So she's having a mantel styling contest on her blog...and the winner gets this vintage brass trunk. I don't need to tell you that this would be a great addition to our new house.

So I'm asking for your help! This is our mantel and it needs your votes. I'm in second place and I'm a pretty sore loser. All you have to do is click HERE, like Emily's Facebook page (which you probably want to follow anyway), and vote!

Thank you, and I hope you have a very Happy Holidays!

What I Wore - Calling Cashmere Lovers

J. Crew is having some INSANE deals right now - especially on cashmere. Cashmere sweaters are worth the investment and a great staple to any wardrobe. I recently bought two (on major sale in-store) and thought I'd show you how I wore them both at work and on the weekends.

Polka-Dot Sweater (not available online, but I
bet it's still in stores - or you can call J. Crew)

I also picked up this No. 2 Pencil Skirt in vivid jade. This is a great basic and comes in a number of colors - all on sale right now!

What I Wore - Totally Tartan

I love the holidays. And I LOVE tartan. A co-worker wore this incredible blazer to work for our holiday lunch. I don't normally buy the same thing as my colleagues, but this was too good to pass up. I've already worn it twice in the last week.

It isn't available online, but here are store locations nationwide. It runs a little small, so you might consider going up a size if you're broad-shouldered like me.
And if you can't find the jacket, these might peak your plaid interest.
C. Wonder Wool Double Logo Ballet Flats
J. Crew Red Tartan Cafe Capri
Topshop Tartan Blazer
Trina Turk Dress
J. Crew Perfect Shirt in Tartan
Are you mad for plaid?

Today is the last day to enter our Angela Caputi giveaway. Get the details here and tomorrow we'll announce the winner.

Be a Betty

Last week Katie posted this fantastic pair of long underwear from Sweaty Betty.

Are you familiar with Sweaty Betty? They have some really cute workout clothes! Check out some of my favorites! If I wasn't so loyal to Nike, I would be a total Betty fan!

Black and White and Striped All Over

When I found this Baily 44 skirt at T.J. Maxx this summer, I knew I was going to get a lot of wear out of it. Last week with the addition of tights, a sweater, a blazer, and some suede pumps, it made the transition into winter.

J. Crew Blazer (old - similar on sale here) / J. Crew cashmere sweater

I've gotten a lot of inquiries from friends, readers, and instagram followers about where they can find something like it. While I haven't found the exact skirt, I did track down two really affordable, similar options.

If you buy this wool knit version today from GAP, you can get 35% off. Just use the code GAPGIVE.

And if knits aren't your thing, here's a cotton/spandex option from Old Navy that's on sale for $19. Tis the season for giving...to yourself.

Don't forget to enter our Angela Caputi bracelet giveaway before Wednesday. We'll announce the winner on Thursday.
