Bombshell Blake

I know I recently critiqued Blake Lively for her dress choice at a White House state dinner, but she has totally redeemed herself. 

I'm not really sure how many days she spent at the Cannes Film Festival, but there were certainly a lot of outfit changes. She's pregnant with her second child and, as always, looks amazing and totally knows how to work the red carpet. 

This is my favorite. Talk about an all American girl!

Blake Bombed

I'm usually a big fan of Blake Lively and her fashion choices. She embodies the word "bombshell", and she and RR are pretty much a modern day Ken and Barbie. But, at last weeks White House dinner honoring the Prime Minister of Canada....she pretty much bombed. 

The Ritz Carlton called, and they want their bathrobe back. 

She's still stunning, but next time she might want to remember to get dressed before going to dinner at the White House. We'll blame this one on "baby brain" and let it slide just this once. 

Sandra Oh, on the other hand, looks fun and colorful, and I love it! The shoes are a bit clunky, but luckily they are hidden by the skirt. 

And Michelle Obama and Sophie Trudeau looked like they leading ladies that they are. 

What Blake Wore

You may know, if you've read the blog for a while now, that I am a big fan of "bombshell Blake" Lively. 

Post-baby Blake has been on a press tour for the release of her new movie Age of Adaline looking svelte and chic, as always. 

There were lots of "hits" and a few big misses. I'll forgive her for these two. This one is especially terrible...the pants aren't even tailored correctly, and that's the least of her problems.

And in case you can't see the detail in this photo, she is wearing a mesh body suit covered in stars. Yes, we know you are a "star" Blake, but not a constellation. I expect these sort of get-ups from Kim K, but not you.

Forgive and forget.

Bombshell Blake

You may have read in previous posts about my "girl-crush" on Blake Lively (here). So maybe it's not really a crush, but more like total body envy. Girl has legs, boobs, hair...a perfectly placed mole. And let's not even start on the arm candy. 

In case you missed it, she's pregnant. And damn her...she looks as fabulous as ever. 

Let's be real...surely she is just like the rest of us and will end up with stretch marks and boobs that aren't quite the same as pre-baby.

At least that's what I will tell myself.

Killing it in Cannes

In case you didn't know, the Cannes Film Festival has been going on. While there have been plenty of Red Carpets that are rundown worthy, I thought I would share with you some photos of Blake Lively who has been killing it on the Red Carpet in Cannes. 

Frist she made an appearance on a French talk show in this Giambattista Valli jacquard dress. Hello legs! 

Later that night she attended the premiere of “Mr Turner” in this light blue Chanel gown. Va Va Va Voom!

And finally, the Pièce de résistance, this incredible Gucci Première gown. Wow! Just Wow! This dress is amazing! Someone should have scooped this up for the Oscars.

Could they be a better looking couple? I think not!

Met Ball Red Carpet Recap

Last night was the annual Met Gala Costume Institute Ball, and while the Academy Awards are the true Super Bowl of fashion, the Met Gala is also a "go big or go home" kind of event. There were so many hits and misses to share, but instead I've decided to stick to a theme, black and white. (images via)

Let's start with Gisele and Tom. She is wearing Balenciaga. I think the dress is gorgeous and so is the plunging neckline. Why does she always have to look so good. Damn her! 

Jessica Paré of Mad Men is in Michael Kors. I love the design and silhouette of this dress.

Hailee Steinfeld looks stunning in Prabul Gurung. The hair, the makeup...everything. I think she nailed it!

While I don't think either Victoria or David got the "go big or go home" message, they nailed the black and white. How could this couple look bad? She is wearing her own label and he is wearing Ralph Lauren Black Label.

I also love the neckline of Zoe Saldana's Michael Kors dress. The bottom half is fun and totally appropriate for the event.

And now, I have saved the BEST for last, Sarah Jessica Parker. She had what can only be called a "Carrie Bradshaw moment". If there was a belle of the ball, she was it. And, if you want to know who designed the dress....just look on the back. It's written on the bottom right. Talk about branding! 

Even if you hate the dress, there is no doubt that she stole the show! 

And while she didn't fall into my black and white theme, Blake Lively and her beau, Ryan Reynolds are GORGEOUS in Gucci. Girlfriend has a hot husband, a banging body and the most fabulous hair. 

Leighton Meester Street Style

Last week we featured the street style of Blake Lively, this week I thought I'd turn to her Gossip Girl on-screen BFF, Leighton Meester. While I have to say I prefer her GG wardrobe to her real-life one, let's not get too picky.
