That said, I am so close to pulling the trigger on my first Boden purchase. We are taking a winter vacation in February to Austria, Italy and Germany, and I think this Crepe Sole Wedge Boot could be perfect for the trip. I really like this fig color as it is a neutral and will go with everything, and I don't have anything like it in my closet. So, what do you think? Cute or Blah?
Here are a few of the other items that struck my fancy when perusing the site.
Have you ever shopped Boden? The prices are similar to J Crew, but the brand is not as well recognized here in the US. I would love to hear your thoughts on the quality and fit.
I've bought a number of pieces from Boden (waiting for a delivery this week) and can tell you from past orders that you should give them a try. I find their sizing to be a bit on the small side, so if you're in between sizes, order up. The quality is much better than JCrew and they make it easy to return an item. Plus, the designs are cute and you won't run into someone on the street wearing the same thing you are. If you have your eye on something, you might want to wait a bit, since most of their stuff goes on sale eventually (similar to Anthropologie).
ReplyDeleteThey used to have free shipping and returns, but they stopped that this year.
I agree with the above comment. The sizing and cuts are a bit off, or just different than in US. I find I am stuck between sizes. I think their things are super cute but am sad to report I've had to return every thing I've bought there.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Sizing is wacky, but when it fits, it is great quality. Now it's one of my favorite everyday- wear companies.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the feedback. I will be sure to let you know if I make any purchases.
ReplyDeleteI like the boots Regs! I have never bought, but I am always tempted.
ReplyDeleteI love Boden and have been shopping with them for years (since they only offered British sizing). Since the conversion, I've found they run a bit large, so I usually just have pieces altered to fit properly (a dart in the bust, reducing the waist, etc.). I've found that my "good" pieces from any line (be it Boden to Nordstrom's) can become "great" pieces with just a little alteration, so I usually spring for it. I'm a teacher, so Boden pieces are perfect! I've had great luck with their dresses and skirts, in particular.
ReplyDeleteAdditionally, to speak to their customer service: it's wonderful! About 3 weeks ago, I ordered a Boden retro bikini in their sale (~$25 each piece). Well, as of Monday it still hadn't arrived, so I called to check on the shipping status. Apparently, it went out the day after I placed the order, but as it was coming to the West Coast from London, the mail system had gotten bogged down with the Olympics, etc. The customer service representative with whom I was speaking credited my account for the full price! She then said that when the suit finally arrived, that it was mine, so I essentially got a free suit! Amazing customer service!
Also, their shipping/return policy is great; as long as you're gentle, you can reuse the original shipping bag and the return label is included which makes returns/exchanges so easy! Because of that and knowing their sizing is a bit funny, I usually order both sized that I'm debating between and just return the one that doesn't fit the best.
I can't recommend Boden enough--fun, flirty, bright, good quality and value, and wonderful customer service! Happy shopping!
I love Boden...you should give it a whirl. I find the pieces to be of good quality. I mainly buy shoes, dresses, and blazers/jackets...things that can be worn to the office or on the weekends. And, as the last reviewer said, I have found their customer service to be top notch. They have feature for product reviews that is very well utilized by the customers. It is so helpful b/c so many people take the time to comment (tight in the chest, green color different than pictured, this one runs large, etc.) Love your blog.
