What I Wore

If you follow C&C on Instagram, you may have seen this photo I posted on Friday night. My +1 and I went out to dinner with friends, and it was the perfect opportunity to wear the new striped shirt I recently bought at Anthropologie (on sale for $30)! 

I paired it with my Joe Fresh (from JCP) shorts (similar here), Manolo Blahnik cork wedges, the Danielle Nicole Zelie clutch that Katie blogged about just yesterday (post here) and an Angela Caputi Chainlink bracelet. 

I always feel so silly taking pictures of myself to share "What I Wore", but I continue to do it, despite feeling completely ridiculous.

I wish I'd taken a photo of the back of the shirt because it has a really cool gold exposed zipper.

Day to Night

You may remember this ASOS dress that I posted last year (here). This past weekend in Walla Walla I wore the dress during the day paired with my Michael Kors flats that I bought earlier this summer at Consign Design. It was perfect for walking around the Whitman Campus, for Katie's award ceremony and for wine tasting. We will be sure to post a trip recap soon! 

That night I didn't want to wear the white jeans and blouse I had planned on wearing, so I took a Zara skirt that Katie had given me on the trip and put it over the dress.

Suddenly the dress became a top, and I took the outfit from day to night! Have you ever worn a skirt over a dress? It was a first for me. 

I paired it with these Manolo Blahnik cork wedges that Katie recently found for me for our birthday - she got them on MEGA-SALE (and this is no exaggeration). 

Wedding Shoes: Part Deux

Right now Regan and are in Baja celebrating our parents' 40th wedding anniversary. You might remember my search for the perfect wedding shoes. And thankfully I found just what I was looking for - even though I didn't know exactly what that was at the time. These were just the je ne sais quoi I needed.

With my big dress, I loved having them peak out pulling together all the details of the wedding (check out more photos). 

While you can't get the navy and white grosgrain, Manolo Blahnik's BB Striped Grosgrain Pump in black and white is the next best thing. 

Black and white is all the rage these days, and whether it's for a wedding or the office, these striped beauties would make the perfect addition to any girl's shoe collection. 

What I Wore - Working Wedding Shoes

When I bought my wedding shoes, I wanted to make sure I would be able to wear them again. When I found these Manolos, I knew immediately they were the ones (just like Dr. B). 

When we returned from our honeymoon I was anxious to get in a few wears before the weather changed. Here are two ways I wore them to work. We all know I have a thing for navy and white stripes...it's borderline obsessive.

Wedding Recap

It isn't often that we post twice in one day, but then again, it's not often you get married either!

So, without further adieu, photos from Katie and Brian's big day, courtesy of the amazingly talented Hillary Maybery and Kristin Cheatwood.

First, the details: the dress, Monique Lhuillier and the shoes Manolo Blahnik. To die! I had a monogram with Katie's new initials and the wedding date made, and then it was sewn inside the skirt of her dress. She is planning on selling the dress (any takers??) so she will be able to keep this as a memento. As for the shoes, I am sure you will be seeing them in upcoming "What I Wore" posts!

Hello gorgeous! Doesn't this remind you of Sex and the City (the movie) when Carrie is modeling the dresses for the Vogue shoot? Work it sister!

Katie and Brian did their reveal prior to the ceremony. Hillary found a beautiful bunch of aspen trees for the photos. Of course the groom had to have a little pop of color as well with these Jack Spade socks!

After the reveal the bridal party met in a field next to the church. We were even surprised by a small snake, which the 2nd photographer, Kristin Cheatwood, was not so excited about! I don't think she will be using this location again anytime soon! The bridesmaid dresses are Alfred Sung and are made of silk dupioni. 

The ceremony was held at the Our Lady of the Snows Catholic church, which our dad actually built. The Mini Fashionista made a grand entrance by running down the aisle towards her "daddy".

Katie and Brian left the ceremony in this fantastic old car and were driven to the base of the River Run where everyone took the gondola to the Round House, a historic lodge on the mountain. 

At the roundhouse we enjoyed cocktails and a fantastic view of the Wood River Valley. 

The reception was held at The Valley Club. Katie planned the flowers, the table linens and all the other details perfectly, including a very cool Jets groom's cake.

After dinner we got down to some serious dancing and "photo boothing"!

Katie and Brian departed under a sea of sparklers, the perfect ending to a perfect day! Now they are enjoying themselves on the beaches of Bali. If I didn't love them, I might hate them just a bit right now!

Wedding Shoes

With less than three months to go until the big day, I'm paying attention to all the important details...like shoes. I decided a long time ago the I wanted to wear wedges with my wedding dress, and I went on the search for the perfect pair. And I found these.

If you read the blog regularly, you know that my colors are kelly green, navy, and white, and I have a small obsession with stripes. So, as you might imagine, when I came across these Manolo Blahniks, the shoe situation got a little tricky.

While these are not your typical wedding shoes, reality is, no one is really going to see them under my dress anyway. I know I will definitely wear them again, they go with our theme, and they definitely make a statement. And they'd look pretty cute next to the groomsmen's socks from Jack Spade in the pictures.

I go for a dress fitting in the middle of June and I'll be taking both pairs with me. In the meantime, the question remains, in which shoe will I say I do?

Hello, Lover

One of the my favorite scenes from Sex and the City is Carrie Bradshaw peering into the store window and addressing the shoes as she would her new man, "Hello, Lover." I tried to find the video, but no luck.
When I saw these Manolo Blahniks, I was suddenly transformed into Carrie, and in love with a pair of shoes. If only my real life lover approved of spending $735 on a pair of shoes.
I saw them in red patent featured on Angie Harmon in Town and Country. Both colors are equally lovable.
