Where's Karl?

I found the gift for the fashionista that has everything...Where's Karl? A grown up version of Where's Waldo, this fun-loving parody is the perfect conversation starter for any girl's coffee table. I'm pretty sure the mini-fashionista would enjoy searching for the suit-clad, sunnie-wearing king of fashion.

Another option for when you start your holiday shopping.

The Truth About Style

A few weeks ago one of my favorite fashionistas, Stacy London, released a new book. For those of you who are not familiar with Stacy, she, along with Clinton Kelley, hosts one of my favorite shows, What Not to Wear. They are like the Batman and Robin of fashion!

On TV Stacy is self-confident, poised and acts as an expert on fashion and life. However, her new book, The Truth About Style, reveals that she too has struggled... with everything from psoriasis to being fired to dealing with an eating disorder.

I'll be adding this to my reading list!

Fitness Fashion Passion

My love for fashion extends into my love for workout gear. Growing up as an athlete in an extremely active community, my workout gear became a collection of its own in my wardrobe. With C & C's other half having spent 6 years at Nike, my small obsession was fed and slowly over time became an addiction...the kind they have support groups for. "Hi, my name is Katie, I have tank tops, capris, running shoes, t-shirts, half-zips, sports bras, shorts, skorts, and jackets...to name a few...in various colors, lengths, cuts, and styles for every sport and occasion.

My mantra is, you cannot control how you are perceived, but you can control how you are presented, and that even applies when you're working out. So, when I was in Dick's the other day (Note: I didn't buy one thing) I was inspired by all the Nike brights and thought I'd share some of my favorite workout gear with you! I love how Nike follows the season's trends, like stripes, polka dots, and tie dye-making it easy to be functional and fashionable while you're sweating your butt off. So here are three staples in my workout wardrobe. They are figure flattering, functional, and come in an array of colors. So get out there, and in the words of Nike, Just Do It!
1. Race Day Women's Running Capri
2. Tradition Rib Women's Training Tank Top (Dri-Fit)
3. Dri-Fit Cotton Women's Training T-Shirt

Feature Friday-Cardigan Junkie

Since I often feature other blogs and bloggers, I thought it would be fun to use Fridays to share new blogs I've come across or to remind you of some of my long standing favorites.

This week I am starting with a blog that focuses on one of my favorite topics, Cardigans. I love anything to do with a cardigan, so when I came across the blog Cardigan Junkie, I knew it was worth sharing. Cardigan Junkie is a style blog for people who love clothes and interior design. Like me, Haley appreciates a good deal and recognizes that not everyone has a fortune to spend on looking good. Check out her blog and you won't be disappointed.

Here's a chic outfit she put together on Polyvore...love the Cardigan!

The Lo Down

Often times I find it hard to mix color without being too matchy matchy...Lo Bosworth masters the art in this ensemble. I LOVE the skirt, cardi combo, and the nude shoes are fab! Well done Lo!

Create your Own Looklet

When I discovered Polyvore, I was addicted. Now these types of websites are popping up all over the web, including looklet.com . This website is a grown-up version of dressing paper dolls. It lets you style a model using a wardrobe of pieces that are all available online. Happy looking!

The September Issue

Anna Wintour is the Queen of Fashion and is feared as much as she is revered. On August 28th, a behind the scenes look at her life at Vogue (titled The September Issue) will make its theatrical debut.

The September 2007 issue of Vogue magazine weighed nearly five pounds, and was the single largest issue of a magazine ever published. The September Issue, directed and produced by R.J. Cutler, tells the story of Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour and her team of editors creating the September issue.

Poppy

Coach is launching a new line called Poppy. The pieces are playful and edgy with a preppy vibe and punk accents. Reed Krakoff, President and Executive Creative Director, says they want shoppers to "walk in and say I love it, I have to have it. The pieces have to be inspiring. If the price is more reasonable, then all the better."

It's a Jungle Out There

Despite the fact that it ended months ago, I am still mourning the loss of Lipstick Jungle. The fashion was TO DIE FOR! All three characters, Victory, Nico, and Wendy had their own unique style and always looked fabulous. Lindsay Price (a.k.a Victory Ford) was my favorite. I hope she wrote it in her contract to keep all the clothes. I know I would have.

Game Set Match

It's becoming a bit of a theme for me to mix the worlds of fashion and sport. That said, the French Open is underway, and I couldn't let it pass without a review of what the women are wearing on court. It appears that blue is the color of the year, and as always Maria Sharapova, and Nike, do not disappoint.

The last photo is no way about fashion, but it is an amazing shot of the Swoosh.

Bright Lights Burberry

Burberry lit up the NYC skyline earlier this week by unveiling a new sign on their US headquarters. Not only did the sign light up the night, but the stars came out to shine in Burberry fashions.

Fashion No

Bravo TV recently premiered its newest design challenge reality show called Fashion Show (hosted by Isaac Mizrahi). After a few episodes I've concluded, that like all knock offs, it's not as good as the real thing. Project Runway fans fear not, Season 6 is scheduled to begin August 20th on Lifetime. Until then, Auf Wiedersehen.

Leading Role

Your dog will turn sidewalks into runways with the collection of collars, leads, and apparel from Mascot. I don't own a dog, but if I did, I would outfit my pup to make sure it was the best dressed at the doggy park. Here are a few of my favorites.

How cute are the reversible puffer coats?
