Head-to-toe Print

I happened upon this windowpane look on Ann Taylor Loft earlier this week (here), and it got me thinking about wearing the same print from head to toe. Given yesterday's post, head-to-toe looks must be on my mind.

I'm not sure that I've ever done it....not because I wouldn't or couldn't....I just haven't.

If you are going to wear one print from head-to-toe, this is how to do it!

Head-toe-toe print? Would you wear it in the city, would you wear it and feel pretty? Would you wear it at the beach? Would you wear it out to dinner? Do you think it would make your ass look thinner? Would you wear print from head to toe? Could you wear print from head to toe? Tell us, tell us we want to know!

OP Does Civil Ceremony Chic

Katie here…

If there's anyone that's my style icon, it's Olivia Palermo. She can do no wrong. You won't see her in Birkenstocks and crop tops…she does classic and sophisticated in an oh so stylish way without falling victim to the latest trends.

Well, you may have heard by now that OP and her equally stylish model German fiancé Johannes Huebl were married this weekend at a civil ceremony in Bedford, NY (how very common of them). Apparently good looks don't get you a visa in the U.S. and they had to speed things along to make sure his beautiful self could stay in the country.

Only OP could get married in separates (which included a Carolina Cashmere sweater, shorts, and a tulle overlay skirt) and make it exquisite. Her something blue was a pair of Manolos and Johannes donned a navy pocket square.

I love the simplicity of her pony tail. She looks ultra glam in an understated way, and I'd expect nothing less. Earlier this year she did a shoot with Brides magazine giving us a glimpse into her bridal style.

I'd say when it came to the real deal, she did not disappoint. What's your take? Was the outfit a hit or miss in your book?

Happy 35th Vara

Ferragamo's classic Vara pump is celebrating its 35th birthday. And they've got an online site where you can design your very own pair (don't worry, they only let you choose respectable pairings. Ferragamo would let ridiculous color combos walk the streets). You may have seen the fabulous likes of Olivia Palermo, Lake Belle, and Camilla Bell donning their perfectly picked pair in magazines and and blogs.

They've even got a gorgeous video to entice you...

I've been coveting a pair of these classic chaussures for a while and this may be the tipping point...I'm close enough to my 35th to warrant a joint celebration, right? Now the question remains, what colors?

Olivia Palermo Street Style

We ended last week with Vivianna Volpicella's Street Style, so why not start this week with another glamour gal on the street. It has been a while since I posted on one of my favorite fashionistas, Olivia Palermo.  Her days on "The City" made her out to be a total DIVA (to put it kindly), so I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with her. Attitude aside, her fashion sense is impeccable, her hair enviable and her figure, a bit on the thin side, but perfect for the couture she wears. Oh, and her +1 is pretty hot too!

Can you imagine what her closet looks like?

Another Steal

Last week I stopped by my favorite Portland consignment store, Seams To Fit , to see if I had sold any items and to check out the latest inventory. As I approached the rack of coats an olive jacket caught my eye...could it be a Barbour? I pulled it off the rack and sure enough, it was! A BRAND NEW (with tags) Barbour Beaufront Jacket and the Betty Interactive Liner (also in Olive)!

My husband had a Barbour jacket growing up, and I bought him one a number of years ago for his birthday. Since then I have been lusting after my own but have never pulled the trigger...until now. This jacket retails for over $400 (and the vest for $100), and I got both for $199! It was too good to pass up.

For those of you who are not familiar with Barbour, it is an iconic British Lifestyle Brand founded in 1894. Think Fox hunting and country chic. It's been a brand of the British Royalty for years and was worn by the late Princess Diana.

And now it's gone mainstream and is seen on some of the chicest celebrities like Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo.

And now it will be seen on me!

Oh Olivia!

Oh what I wouldn't give to have one day with Olivia P's shopping allowance, access, and style. Thought you'd enjoy this look into her fashion escapades around New York City. A girl can dream, can't she?

Cardigan Wednesday

LOVE this look and OP's style! Talk about Summer chic! I'm not sure when this photo was taken, but it is clearly pre-Olivia's recent haircut.

What The?

Not sure which is worse...the hair or the dress?

I'm on the Fence

Usually I am a BIG fan of Olivia Palermo's style, but this look has me on the fence. LOVE the cardigan, but it looks frumpy over the dress, which is a bit ill-fitting in the chest. The dress is cute (wish I could see the sleeves), and the shoes are to die for, but overall I'm not sold.

Would love to know your thoughts?

Long Locks

It looks like OP cut her hair! I don't think it is possible for her to look bad, but I have to say, I am partial to her long locks....

I've said it before, and I will say it again....OP has the most amazing style, the most amazing hair, and I am simply jealous.

No Explanation Necessary

Last week on Gilt Groupe your name was entered into a drawing for a GG credit when you answered the following question: If you could steal one TV Character's wardrobe, whose would it be and why? Here are a few wardrobes I would love to steal...and there is no need to explain why.

Whose wardrobe would you steal?

(let's get real...it is a TV show, therefore I could steal her wardrobe)

(could I take her body too?)

Gracing the Cover

Thanks to Chic Intuition for the tip off on Olivia Palermo's Cover + 10 page spread in Asos magazine. My hate for her is just pure jealousy!!!

Friend or Foe

Erin Kaplan is the youngest PR director ever for Elle Magazine, and if you watch The City, you know all about her relationship with OP. So, is it real or reality TV?
