Feature Friday - Courcy Inspired Design

Remember Jessica from the Cabinet Series, well she recently started a blog!

The name of her blog, Courcy Inspired Design, was inspired by her grandmother. It's a wonderful collection of beautiful photos, interior design, food, and DIY projects!

A few amazing posts include:

I think you'll find her blog to be just as wonderful as she is. Happy Friday!

XOXO

Cardigan Wednesday - Cabinet Series

The Cabinet Series is coming to a close. On our little adventure you met Jess, Lesley, Meg, and Whit. Aren't they fabulous! I hope from each post you got a sense of their individual styles and personalities. Each and every day I'm thankful to have them in my life and am so excited to have them stand by my side when Dr. B and I get married next August (P.S. Happy Birthday to my sweet Dr. B).

I thought to put a bow on the series I'd do a post on me. I asked the girls to send me one word that they think represents my style, and the post would be inspired by those words. From Jess I got trend-isticated (you know how to work a trend, but always look sophisticated), both Meg and Whit chose Chic, and Lesley said inspired. Love my girls for being so flattering. That's what friends are for - always there to give you a little pick-me-up.

I put together an outfit that I'd wear to work - because let's face it, that's where I spend most of my time. I actually own some variation of most of these pieces. While this is the most conservative "me" it definitely gives you a glimpse into who I am. Most importantly, thanks for coming along on this series. I hope you've enjoyed it as much as I have! I'd love other ideas for Cardigan Wednesday. We love to switch it up here at C&C.

Cardigan Wednesday - Cabinet Series

It's that time of week again! This week you meet the final member of the Cabinet--Whitney (Do note that I've got one more post in the series for next week, so rest easy, it's not over yet). Whitney hails from the great state of Georgia, but now lives in Boston. Her husband took her away from us two years ago when they got married...I still don't understand why they couldn't live apart for the sake of our togetherness. But anyways...

Whitney's style is classic, chic, feminine, and bold. She has a body that makes anything look good. I think what I admire most about her style is its diversity. Whit can dress for any occasion and look spot-on. She also knows how to wear bright colors in just the right way--not everyone has this skill. I hope the look I picked out wins the approval of our Georgia Peach. While she's not here geographically, a few states could never tear apart The Cabinet. We'd be lost without her.

Cardigan Wednesday - Cabinet Series

Meg on her wedding day February 21, 2009
It's week three of the Cabinet Series (you already met Jess and Lesley). This week, meet Meg, also known as Pearl. I won't go into the long and involved story of how she got her nickname, but don't you think it fits her. Meg was one of my very first friends in D.C. We met at my first job and were fast friends. I frankly don't know what I would do without her in my life. She's the kind of person that will drive you to the airport at 4:30 in the morning (she's really done that), drop everything to go to dinner because you've had the worst day ever (sushi anyone?), and talk you off the ledge when life's drama-factor is at code red.

Meg is a powerhouse. She's the first one of us to have a baby (little H is the cutest at 8 months old), and somehow between being an awesome mom and a VP at her firm, she still finds time to be an amazing friend. With all that she has going on, Meg needs a simple and stylish look for her on-the-go lifestyle. If I had to pick one word to describe her style it would be conservative. With her super petite frame (I'm convinced she has hollow legs), she needs simple silhouettes that are well-tailored. Because she's always in very important meetings, and the Duchess of Cambridge has brought them back, I thought I'd accessorize her outfit with some stockings. :-) If that's not classically conservative, I don't know what is.

Cardigan Wednesday - Cabinet Series

Cardi Wednesday is getting switched up. You know Sex and the City? Well I've got that in real life (not the wardrobe, but the over-the-top, four-leaf clover kind of lucky friendship). Being the D.C. geeks that we are, we named ourselves "The Cabinet." We're each other's closest advisors, going on almost ten years now, so it's only fitting. Each member of The Cabinet has her own sense of style and inspires me in individual ways. Since these girls are a consistent in my life, I thought I'd introduce them to you. For the next four Wednesdays, you'll meet one of them and their style (including a cardigan).

Readers, meet Jessica! Jess is from Massachusetts. She's my oldest friend in D.C. We were roommates (we've never had a fight). We send each other pictures of our outfits, just because. Her style is feminine and chic. She has an innate ability to layer and accessorize. She has a great collection of vintage bags (that I love borrowing from) and knows just how to be work-appropriate and fashionable. Oh, and did I mention she's got a set of gams that I would kill for! Here's an outfit I can see Jess wearing to work. I hope she approves!
