Reboot Ready

You may remember this fall I did a 6-week nutrition and health reboot run by my childhood friend and registered dietitian Katie. Well, she's offering another starting April 18 and I'm definitely signing up. If you've ever thought about doing a "reboot" this is the way to go.

Let's start with what this isn't...it's not about weight loss (although it can be if that's your goal), starvation, liquid diets, cabbage soup, or unsatisfying meals. This reboot is a way to kick bad habits (sugar in my case), get back to clean, healthy eating (whole, unprocessed foods), try some new recipes, and do it with an encouraging and recipe-sharing group of fellow rebooters. My reboot book has lived on the counter since last fall and I regularly cook from it (weekly, in fact).

The cost for first-timers is $150 or $75 for repeat rebooters. It's hands down one of the best investments you can make for your health. Here's what you'll get - a Reboot binder which includes sample menus, recipes, dining out tips and more. You'll also get the support of a Facebook Reboot group where you can post questions, share recipes and get that little extra bit of motivation. You also get direct access to Katie who is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to food and fitness. Who doesn't love having a personal dietitian at their disposal!

So, who's with me? It would be awesome to have a C & C subgroup - especially if there are fellow DC area rebooters. And you'll finish up just in time for Memorial Day - what a way to ring in bathing suit season!

Email me at CardiCouture@gmail.com if you're interested in signing up.

And to get you excited, here's a smoothie recipe from week 3/4.

Tropical Detox Smoothie
1/2 cup cooked quinoa
1/2 cup frozen spinach or kale (2 cups fresh)
1 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
1 banana
1/2 coconut milk, canned (I use light coconut milk from Trader Joe's)
1 cup water
Juice from 1/2 lime
1 Tbsp cilantro leaves
1/2 cup cucumber
1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
2 dates (optional)
1 tsp chia seeds (optional)
2 cups ice cubes
