Keeping it Real: Hamster-Wheel World

Katie here. I know, Regan is typically your "Keeping it Real" girl, but I've got some things on my mind that I'll be sharing in upcoming posts. So let's get to it. Do you ever think back to when you were a kid? There wasn't a whole lot to worry about - you had recess and sleepovers with your friends, played sports, were driven around, and someone cooked for you every night. Sometimes I wish I could go back to those blissfully naive days and appreciate just how great they were.

I work hard. Really hard. And I take great pride in my work. But sometimes it feels a little lot like this.

Like I'm just busting my butt, to only run in circles feeling like I'll never reach whatever it is I'm working towards or for. If I could just work harder and get "bigger" jobs, maybe then I'd reach happiness Nirvana...And while I know deep down that's probably wrong, it's hard not to get caught ass over teacup in the work wheel.

ATed Talk I've been meaning to share with you for quite some time explores the idea that while we often believe hard work begets success, maybe it's the other way around. Check it out.

As a result of this video, I've made a few small changes in my life to find regular happiness in this often crazy world. Sometimes you have to slow down and step out of the wheel. It seems to be working so far.
