C & C on the Move: Walla Walla Weekend

Katie is busy at work meetings in Paris this week (rough, right?), so I'm writing to give you a quick recap of our meet-up last weekend in Walla Walla, Wa. Katie attended Whitman College and was being honored during their reunion weekend as Young Alumni of the year, which was totally a big deal, but she would have NEVER written that!

Where do I start? How about our amazing accommodations, Stone Creek Manor. This amazing property is owned by our dear family friends. It is spectacular. For anyone visiting WW, I highly suggest renting one of their two guest cottages.

For those who don't know, Whitman is a small liberal arts college (about 1500 students) centered in the middle of the wheat fields in Eastern Washington. When Katie was in college, there wasn't a whole lot going on in WW, but in the years since it has grown into a destination for both food and wine.

We thought Katie's award was the perfect reason for a girl's weekend, so the Mini Fashionista and our mom joined in on the fun.

Katie enjoyed taking a tour down memory lane, including all the places she lived during her four years at Whitman.

I surprised Katie by inviting two of her BFFs from college. They had some good memories to relive.

As I mentioned, WW has some incredible restaurants. We ate at the Maple Counter Cafe each morning of our visit (it was just so good). The oatmeal was fantastic (I had it three days in a row), and the "apple pancake" on the bottom left was unforgettable (just like the menu said).

We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Saffron Mediterranean Kitchen and drank wine from one of our favorite wineries, Dunham Cellars.

And of course we couldn't leave WW without stopping at just a few wineries, and buying a few bottles of wine. Katie and I each bought a case!! FYI, if you are flying on Alaska Airlines out of WW, they will check a case of wine for FREE!

It was a fun celebration weekend full of food, wine, family and friends!

I can't wait for the next time that we can all be together again.
