C&C Gets Crafty

Happy Valentine's Day from C&C and the Mini Fashionista!

We hope your life is filled with love and happiness on this Hallmark Holiday....and if nothing else some good chocolate and wine.

Since the Mini Fashionista is now in "school", this was our first year of giving Valentines, and I've become "that" parent....the one that just can't give the paper, store bought Valentines. I had to do something bigger..something different. To my credit, the Mini Fashionista can't write, so what's the fun in giving Valentines if you don't actually get to be involved in the process? My goal was to do something she could help with.

So what is the Mini Fashionista giving out? Crayon hearts! Here is the process.

I ordered 250 crayons and a silicon heart tray from Amazon....Step 1, peeling all the paper off the crayons (she did not help with this step). #laboroflove

Step 2, break all of the crayons into little pieces. What 2 year old doesn't have that skill nailed?

Step 3, place the pieces into the tray, another child friendly task.

Step 4, bake at 350 for about 5 minutes. Then place in freezer for 5-10 minutes to cool.

Step 5, remove from the tray!

Finally, wrap them into fun little bags, add a heart tag and give to all your fellow ankle biters!

  1. I have done homemade valentines for years and many turned out very cute. This year, for the first time, all 3 kids had store-bought valentines. Wow, was it every quicker!
