A C & C reader is headed to Jackson Hole, Wyoming next week for a little winter vaca. She asked for our help with what to wear on and off the mountain. Boy did she come to the right place! Regan and I used to ski race and there is nothing we love more than outdoor apparel. Here are some functional and fashionable must-haves.
Skiing without a helmet is down right silly. Not only does it protect your head, but it also keeps it extra warm.
Both on and off the mountain, if you live in a ski town, a down jacket is a must. I've got a small collection of "puffers," but there's always room for another in the collection.
Bula has always made my favorite hats. What better way to cover up your helmet head when you get of the slopes than with this cable knit number.
Take it from the little people, mittens are the way to go to keep your paws warm, regardless of how old you are.
Who says ski socks have to be ugly. When you take your boots off in the lodge, these will definitely turn heads.
Snow boots are a must, and the Sorel Tivolis are a favorite. They're warm, cute, and lightweight enough that you can wear them around town or out for a snowshoe.
Of course she'll need some cute loungewear for those afternoons by the fire.
And for a night on the town, pair a chunky knit with jeans and sorels and you're good to go!
Take a few turns for us!
