Work Appropriate LBD

We've got a gala coming up at the beginning of the year for work and female staff attending have to wear black (colleague appropriate) cocktail dresses. A few of the ladies at work mentioned they were in the need of a LBD (little black dress) and you know I'm always up of for a challenge. And, for the rest of you, a good black cocktail dress is a staple for any wardrobe…so if you don't have one or need an update, this post's for you.

What I Wore: Work-Appropriate Denim

Denim can be appropriate for work. Especially on a casual Friday. Chambray is usually my go-to. The tailored nature of this shirt, paired with a black skinny ankle pant was relaxed, comfortable, and still put together enough for a day at the office.

I couldn't let things get too boring, and these sparkly smoking shoes were just the pop the outfit needed.

Here are a few work-appropriate denim pieces you might consider adding to your closet.

Jeweled Collar Chambray Shirt
Drapey Chambray Trouser Leg Pants
Adrianna Papell Chambray Trim Skirt
J. Crew Schoolboy Blazer

Is denim a part of your work wardrobe?
