So...Spanx.

So, Spanx. Sara Blakely is laughing all the way to the bank while the rest of us rely on her shapewear to suck us in and smooth us out. And I'm not just a fan of her miraculous granny shorts, but also the Spanx bras. I know I've blogged about them before, but seriously, check them out. Up until recently I'd never ventured beyond undergarments. But these babies caught my eye in the store window out at Tyson's Corner and I went in to investigate...and eventually bring them home.

They also come in green!

Who knew that Spanx made what I'll now call, "fancy leggings." You know, the ones that are a slightly more appropriate to wear in public (just slightly). They're definitely holding their own in the athleisure game. Here are a few other pairs worth venturing out to run errands in.

Legs For Days

As you may have seen on my birthday wish list, I am totally lusting after these Vimmia leggings.

As much as I love these leggings, I found another pair to take their place, and these have already found their home in my drawer. Last week when I was in Laguna Niguel at the barre3 there, I found these incredible Legs for Days Leggings from Beyond Yoga.

I'm pretty sure my husband thinks they are ridiculous, but I think they are crazy cool, and that's all that matters. I consider them an early birthday present to myself. I will be sure to post a photo when I wear them for the first time.

Bust a Move

You know I am always on the hunt for cool leggings! I was recently contacted by Pins by Lydra, a company in Melbourne, Australia. They take art and showcase it on leggings. Seriously cool stuff! Here's a short poem to tell you more about the company:

"If you’re a lithe legged lovely with legs right up to there,
Or your limbs are slightly shorter and covered in fine hair.
Just don a pair of Pins and you’ll feel five million bucks,
With these luscious leggings on, you’re sure to gather looks.
Choose tailored tights by Breslin with crazy bright designs,
Or Pins by Lilli Waters where hidden beauty shines.
And those from Abby Seymour are a two-colour delight,
Hand sewn by careful fingers to fit your legs just right.
And, if you’re a cool designer, then why don’t you apply,
To see your great creation on some luscious ladies thigh?"

These photos are from the SHE raw exhibition (inspired by the upcoming Olympics). Can you imagine me showing up to Barre3 to teach in these? I better be able to bust some serious moves like these ladies.

Black Milk

Thanks to my friend Meredith for introducing me to Black Milk Clothing Company. In fact, thanks to Meredith for inspiring me to begin this blog (nearly 3 years ago)! If it weren't for her, C&C wouldn't exist. Love you Mere!

Now, back to Black Milk...This company started with an Australian girl (a Sheila, if you will) and a dream of fantastic leggings. Dream no more...Black Milk Clothing offers the coolest leggings as well as dresses, skirts, tops, etc. Here are a few of my favorites.

I know I would definitely turn a few heads and stand out from the crowd if I wore these at Barre3!

This final pair would require an incredible amount of guts...no pun intended.

These are so crazy... but crazy cool!

The Right Fit

I am a big fan of J Brand skinny jeans (particularly the 912). Today on Cupcakes and Cashmere, Emily posted on the J Brand Low Rise Leggings. Apparently they fit perfectly, and in all the right places. I have a feeling they will quickly be sold out...so order now!

A Little Rock and Roll

Jeggings (Jean/denim leggings) are all the rage right now. So, how about these Slippery Sisters from MaSh?

Get The Skinny

The DVF Fall Collection showcases skinny pants/leggings as the central point of many of the looks. While I haven't fully embraced leggings (my husband loathes them), I am getting there.
