Lyon and Post

A few weeks ago I placed an order from a new online shop called Lyon + Post. Here's the great thing about it...you shop online, but you don't pay for anything until you decide to keep it.

Here's how it works. You sign-up, shop their online "catalogue", add things to your "try it on" list and once you have four in your "dressing room", they send it to you. No shipping. No payment (yet).

Here's what the box looks like upon arrival.

Pretty packaging!

And here are the three things that I ordered. The first was this Equipment blouse that was on sale.

And while I liked it, I wasn't overwhelmed, so it went back in the return envelope.

The second item was this Greylin blouse also on sale for only $31!

Considering I started out with a $30 credit, I knew immediately this was staying in my closet.

And lastly I ordered these sundry shorts, also on sale for $45.

These too were keepers.

I wore both the Greylin top and the Sundry shorts on my trip to Mexico last week! The shorts are cute and comfy, and I'm hoping the Sundry sweatpants on their site come back into stock.

Lyon + Post is pretty much like shopping on any other online store. The only difference is that there's no shipping cost (in either direction), and you don't actually get charged for any of the items until you choose to buy them. Think of it like being in a dressing room, except in the comfort of your own home.

I will definitely be ordering from Lyon + Post again. You should give it a try. If you use this link you will start out with $30 in your shopping cart just like I did!

Splurge v. Save + What I Wore

Silk blouses are a great staple in any wardrobe. They can be dressed up or down and have a clean and polished look. When it comes to finding the right one the J. Crew Blythe blouse is definitely a winner.

It comes in an array of colors and is moderately priced at $110. Right now you can get select colors on sale for $59.99.

The Equipment Signature Blouse is another great option, but is on the high-end at $208. Equipment really knows how to use great textiles...so one could be worth the splurge for just the right piece.

But, if you're looking to try out the style and don't want to commit, the Old Navy Roll-Cuff blouse is a great alternative. And as low as $22.50, you really can't go wrong, even if you only wear it for one season. I recently used a 20% coupon to buy two - one in bright nite and the other in minty fresh. Here's how I wore them to work.

Do you have a favorite silk blouse?

P.S. Don't forget you have until the end of the month to save 10% at Serena Italian Imports using the code "fallcardicouture"!

Reader Challenge - Navy Dress

I love reader challenges. It gives me purpose to my writing. So when my wedding planner (who I adore), said she was in need of a navy dress for our wedding and another wedding she's planning this summer, I immediately thought, BLOG POST!

Since she'll be moving around a lot that day, the dress needs to be somewhat functional. Thankfully she has a rock-star bod and she's a total stunner, so whatever she picks, I know she will look fabulous! Here are a few options out there (you'd be surprised how few there actually are).

Lauren by Ralph Lauren - $139
Asos - $109.07
Tory Burch - $350
Equipment - $298
Diane von Furstenberg - $365
Diane von Furstenberg - $375
Alice + Olivia - $297
Raoul - $350
Diane von Furstenberg - $375
I think the last one may be my favorite choice for her. Not everyone could pull the dress off, but she definitely could. Which dress is your favorite?
