Riding In Style

Portland is one of the most bike-friendly cities in the country, and "cyclists" range from bike messengers, road racers, to neighborhood cruisers and your average commuter. What I don't see much of are the chic cyclists that you see in NYC, Milan, and Amsterdam. I am not sure I would ride a bike in a dress, but I love the fashionista in the fedora and printed shorts. I wish I lived in a neighborhood where I could cruise around, sans helmet, in a cute little Summer outfit. Unfortunately, there are far too many hills, and an even bigger problem, I don't own a cruiser.
